Career

John’s family has been taking care of trees here in Houston for four generations. His father, Ove Foster pioneered organic soil programs in the 1960’s with the help of Environmental Advocates like the late Dewey Compton.

1974 At the age of 14, John was one of the youngest persons in the state of Texas to become licensed by the Structural Pest Control Board.

1983 John worked for the Forestry Department in California
John has been a frequent expert guest for , Bill Zack, John Burrows, Ben Oldag, Randy Lemmon, and The Lazy Gardener Program on Channel 8 PBS

1989 John became the President and CEO of Foster's Tree Service, a subsidiary of Environment Care Inc. Foster’s Tree Service has been family owned and operated since 1968.

1996 John Published "All About Trees in and Around Houston"
John has served as Chairman for the Environmental Committee of the Greater Southwest Houston Chamber of Commerce

John is a member of the International Society of Arboriculture and the National Society of Arboriculture

2003 John founded OrganicMovement.com

May 1st 2004 John first aired Environment Care Radio with JOHN FOSTER on KKHT
