Career Highlights
Worked as a Medical Technologist in hospital laboratories for over 20 years from Idaho to Texas with last job as Laboratory Manager at Katy Hospital in Katy, Texas

Family

I am the oldest of three and have two younger brothers. One is a high school teacher-retiring this year after 20 years-and also an award winning taxidermist in Idaho. The other brother is a CPA for a utility firm in Denver, Colorado
Pets
No "tame" pets at this time, but do consider the resident opossums, turtle, raccoons and frogs "pets", although they are all allowed to exist with minimal interference from me. I just get to enjoy their presence
Education
BS degree in Microbiology from Idaho State University with post graduate work in virology
Thoughts
My current goal is to try to educate the general public on the importance of the environment and the "creatures" to our (man's) well-being and future. Man is not an isolated individual, but a member of a very complex system and all members are important for "his" survival.
Hobbies
Writing, gardening, all kinds of needlework including quilting and reading
Organizations
Texas Master Naturalist Gulf Coast chapter (I was instrumental in setting up this chapter and served 2 years as the chapter president), Harris County Master Gardeners (member since 1991) and a member of the Urban Harvest board for 1 1/2 years.

Awards

"Gardening the Upper Texas Gulf Coast"was awarded the top prize the year it was entered at the state meeting.
