Mark
Bowen Co-founded Living Art Landscapes, a landscape design/build
firm. He is also Co-founder of Houston's Christmas Tree Recycling
Program- later adopted by the City of Houston.
Mark
is Former vice president of environmental affairs for the
Houston Audubon Society, Second president of Urban Harvest,
a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting community
gardening and ecological land use.
Mark
is Author of many books including:"Habitat Gardening
for Houston and Southeast Texas" by Riverbend Publishing,
1997, "Bayou Planting Guide" sponsored by the Bayou
Preservation Association, 2003, "Naturalistic Landscaping
for the Gulf Coast", Riverbend Publishing, 2003, Design
Contributor to the book "Home Landscaping: Texas",
Creative Homeowner Press, 2003, Coordinator of Rice University's
"Growing Your Houston Garden" lecture series and
presenter of the "Introduction to Natural Landscaping
Series." Both lecture series are offered through Rice's
continuing studies program. Mark was also Freelance contributing
writer of the "In The Garden With Urban Harvest"
column, which appears in the Houston Chronicle each Sunday.
Mark
is Current advisory board member of the Bayou Preservation
Association and Urban Harvest.
